Providence Presbyterian Church was organized on October 14, 2007 by the Presbytery of the Southeast of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church. The church was founded with a commitment to Reformed theology and confessional Presbyterianism.
The congregation continued to grow in numbers and in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. New families joined the fellowship, and the church deepened its commitment to expository preaching and Biblical worship.
Pastor Michael Borg came under care of the Presbytery of Michigan and Ontario and was licensed in 2013 after receiving his MDiv. from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI.
In 2014 Pastor Michael Borg accepted the call to Providence Presbyterian in Bradenton, FL and was ordained in May of 2014. He and his wife Rachel have been blessed with five children.
God has continued to raise up Elders in the midst of his people here at Providence. Providence praises God for His ongoing blessing as we grow together in His grace, committed to the Westminster Standards and the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
Our Confession
As a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, we are part of a denomination founded in 1936 by J. Gresham Machen and others who sought to preserve historic, confessional Presbyterianism in America.
We subscribe to the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms as the clearest exposition of what the Scriptures teach. These standards have guided Reformed churches for over 375 years.
"God has continued to raise up Elders in the midst of his people here at Providence... Providence praises God for His ongoing blessing as we grow together in His grace."
From Our Pastor
The name “Providence” is not incidental — it reflects the theological conviction at the heart of who we are. In this short video, Pastor Michael explains the meaning and implications of our church’s name, and what it says about the God we worship.
We meet every Sunday at 4455 30th Street East, Bradenton, FL 34203
